Fabio Correa Gomes28 Jun 2025·🎙️ What's LatestSegments are great… but they’re also a prisonFor decades, segments brought structure and consistency to translation. But in today’s AI-powered world, that structure is starting to feel more like a cage. Let's talk about the limitations of segment-based workflows and why it's time to move toward something better. With Free Flow, you're no longer stuck translating sentence by sentence. You’re creating meaning, adapting freely, and working with AI the way it was meant to be used. Fabio Correa Gomes26 Jun 2025·🎙️ What's LatestImagine this: you add a new term to your glossary. Just one. Now, your AI starts recalibrating everything: ✔️ Shifting tone from formal to informal, ✔️ Tweaking phrasing to sound more natural, ✔️ Adapting content from one country to another, ✔️ And reshaping sentences to match that one term’s new meaning. Suddenly, it’s not just one change. It’s a C A S C A D E like dominoes falling in every direction. This is what happens when AI understands semantics. It doesn’t just translate. It adapts. And one small glossary update can quietly reshape everything. That’s why we built our Glossary Kanban, so you can manage those dominos before they fall. Domino Colosseum Collapse!.mp4
Roger Loney25 Jun 2025·🏆 Share your winsEarly impressions, editor is greatHi everyone, I’m new here, and I started working with Bureau Works a bit more than 6 months ago. I’ve used a few different tools before, and this one’s been pretty reliable so far. The editor is quick to open and easy to work in. I use the AI suggestions a lot, they’re usually helpful and save time, especially on simple or repetitive segments. Some of the alerts feel unnecessary, but they don’t really slow me down. Overall, it’s been a smooth experience. I hope that can help you.
Sofía Ramírez25 Jun 2025·🏆 Share your winsFinancial tracking works wellThe financial tracking has been useful. We can see how much we’re spending on different projects and vendors. It’s easier to keep track when we can view costs by language or client. We can also pay our vendors directly with just a few clicks, which speeds things up. Having it all in one spot helps. If you’re managing a lot of languages or vendors, Bureau Works is worth considering.
Fabio Correa Gomes24 Jun 2025·🎙️ What's LatestTranslation isn’t a niche anymoreIt’s not just about how good AI is. It’s about who’s paying attention. Executives are finally asking: “Do we really need to spend millions on localization?” That shift in perception is shaking the industry harder than any algorithm ever could. The question isn’t whether AI will replace translators. The real question is: Will businesses see your value before it’s too late? What do you think? Are we evolving or just cutting costs? Fabio Correa Gomes19 Jun 2025·🎙️ What's LatestManage Translation Terms Visually with Glossary Kanban!Change one, and everything around it can shift, tone, style, or even meaning. AI can pick up on these changes instantly. That’s why managing glossary terms isn’t just admin work, it’s strategy. If a single term can ripple through your content, it should be easy to manage and easy to get right. Glossary Kanban in Bureau Works makes terminology management simple, visual, and collaborative. Fabio Correa Gomes16 Jun 2025·🎙️ What's LatestIs translation still about words, or is it about meaning, context, and creativity? At PIC, Henrique Cabral presented Free Flow, our new editor at Bureau Works that reimagines translation from the ground up. Instead of working sentence by sentence, Free Flow allows you to translate entire bodies of text with purpose. Adapting for web, email, or social media while preserving voice and intent. It is translation meets authorship, designed for creatives, marketers, and global teams. We’re not just talking vision. We’re building it. #TranslationInnovation #BureauWorks #FreeFlowEditorYouTube
Rodrigo Demetrio12 Jun 2025·🎙️ What's LatestFree-Flow took 3rd place at the Process Innovation Challenge at LocWorld!Congratulations to all PIC participants, regardless of the final ranking, we’re grateful for the many deep conversations about the future of translation. Rodrigo Demetrio12 Jun 2025·🎙️ What's LatestProcess First Thinking Will Sink Your BusinessIt might be costing you more than you realize. For the past 30 years, creating complex, reactive processes was the gold standard. Today, it's becoming a liability. "The process becomes more expensive than the translation itself... and that's only getting worse with the rise of generative AI." We believe software-first thinking is no longer optional, it's survival. Processes that once made companies thrive are now stifling growth, killing flexibility, and draining precious bandwidth. It's time to rethink, rebuild, and refocus. How is your organization preparing for the AI era? Click on the link in the comments for the full video.YouTube
Rodrigo Demetrio12 Jun 2025·📣 Product UpdatesThis Update Changes Everything, Here’s WhyMay 2025 Product Update It's a translation editor. But it doesn't have any segments... Whaaat? Welcome to the Free-Flow editor by Bureau Works. In short, Free-Flow is a full-text translation editor. Imagine the freedom of writing in Word or Google Docs, combined with the power of our localization stack like translation memories, context, and terminology all working quietly in the background. It’s built for how people actually write. The interface is clean and intuitive. Under the hood, we are vectorizing everything including text, images, and video to capture meaning, not just words. Want to see why it’s more than just removing segments? 01) Watch our CTO present in 3 min how Free-Flow operates , and what makes it unique. 02) Learn how Free-Flow leverages vectors and embeddings , and why they’re key to the future of localization We have a wait list for our early adopters program. Click here if you'd like to join. Data Transformation Parameters. Because not everything needs translating. When preparing content for translation, not all fields are meant to be translated, but they’re still important. For example, while localizing our website, I had fields like article IDs, URLs, publication dates, and statuses like “published.” These weren’t meant for translation, but I still needed them included and returned in an organized format to update our Webflow site. Back then, handling this meant lots of manual work 😡 and post-processing. Now, with Data Transformation Parameters, you can define exactly how those non-translatable fields should be handled 😍. Sharing is caring and our Google Drive connector just got better! Our Google Drive connector was already an easy and seamless when it came to the files you owned. But we missed one small detail: what about the files you shared? Realizing so many organizations rely on shared drives for content sharing, we changed our connector to take this into account. You can sync content in your shared drives directly into your Bureau Works projects. After that, just pick your favorite drink, something nice to eat and if you have full potential of automation turned on in Bureau Works, just sit back and watch the magic happen. Our platform now supports 456 languages We’ve recently added a new batch of languages to the platform, Among the additions, we’re especially proud to include two Indigenous languages: Wayuunaiki (guc) and Awajún (agr). Their presence reflects our ongoing commitment to language diversity and cultural inclusion. These new locales are already live on the platform. Currency Conversion Made Easy Now you can generate payables in the currency of your choice, just toggle the option, pick the target currency, and drop in the exchange rate. We’ll take care of the math :) And don’t worry, if your payment method doesn’t support a currency, we’ll gently steer you in the right direction. What’s New “Segments are great… but they’re also a prison." Segments brought order to translation, but now they may be standing in the way. In this bold video, Gabriel Fairman breaks down how AI and semantic vectorization are rewriting the rules of localization. Watch now to explore a future beyond segments, where meaning, not syntax, leads the way. Break the Machine 😍 This is our team at LocWorld 53 in Malmö. 😍 We toured Europe the past few weeks: London, Copenhagen, Paris, Malmö and Sofia. We had the pleasure to exchange words, thoughts, and smiles with so many of our partners and friends. It was intense. It was grueling. It was satisfying. Behind us is our tagline: Break the Machine. We get a lot of questions: why Break the Machine? What does it mean? Sometimes, poetry is the only effective way to communicate something. And here it is: The war is not my identity. I am not the machine. I get to stop. I get to feel. And nothing falls apart—because I’ve already built the world that holds me. Break the machine.YouTube

Fabio Correa Gomes8 May 2025·🎙️ What's LatestWhat’s NewWe are finalists again at the LocWorld Process Innovation Challenge. 4 contests. 4 finals! This whole Gen AI thing really isn’t truly compatible with the old way of translating. The entire premise of localization tooling is structured around relational databases and while they still have their value, we’re moving into a world where relational databases still have value but are, for the most part, increasingly mismatched with the demands of modern, AI-native localization workflows.. We have huge respect for the incredible canon our peers have built over the past 40 years or so, but we don’t want to be stuck retrofitting new concepts into old building blocks. The Free Flow Editor brings these two worlds together. It can leverage past knowledge, help users detect errors, guide the translation process, and deliver incredible productivity in a vector-driven world . It’s not just really cool. It’s truly a game changer , and it’s available to you in our production environment this year . Learn More About Free Flow Where does your translation program land on the Translation Software Maturity Scale? Fabio Correa Gomes8 May 2025·📣 Product UpdatesApril 2025 Product UpdateWe are moving so fast, sometimes it's hard to keep up with our own idea of who we are. Adding these wonderful bells and whistles is amazing, and we'll continue to press on. But the real juice is in how we’re rethinking every single aspect of our platform, given all this tech potential that just keeps oozing. It feels like playing tennis on a moving train. Not that I've ever played tennis on a moving train, but you get the picture. 😀 We’re enabling GPT-4.1 Mini , Multilingual Excel Files , Target-Based Log Files , a smarter Zendesk connector , and auto-fixing of Tags in Translation Memories . This month, we’ve delivered breathtaking improvements literally, we ran out of breath while developing them for you. JK, we are tireless, and Bureau Works is unstoppable! And without further ado ... here are our April updates. Multilingual Excel Files on Wheels! Sometimes, it's so convenient to have all of your translations neatly assembled into a single spreadsheet. And it's even more convenient if there's no copying and pasting required. Our extended support for Multilingual Excel Files does just that. One file in with the source in a single column and one file out, precisely populated with translations, each in their corresponding column. Less copying and pasting means more time for focused work on higher-value translation tasks. Evolving the Post-editing Science: Target Based Logfiles are on! We've expanded our post-editingn analytics capabilities. We already provide logfiles via pre-analysis, post-analysis, and edit coefficients, but now we've added measurement by target words. You can request Bureau Works to analyze files based on source or target content, giving you extra flexibility in how you assess completed work and measure project metrics. Now Powered by OpenAI 4.1-mini The best aspect about our AI strategy is that we do not rely on training and tuning models. Not only is this amazing to avoid model dirft, poisoning and adversarial attacks, but it's also wonderful in another aspect. We can switch seamlessly to the latest and greatest model. That’s exactly what just happened. Bureau Works now supports OpenAI 4.1-mini , the newest, sleekest model (because honestly, keeping track of these names is a full-time job). It’s lightweight, efficient, and gets the job done, especially when it comes to speeding up pre-translation and enabling smarter, more scalable bulk operations. Save Projects Straight to Google Drive Now, translated files delivered to Bureau Works, no matter where they came from, an be automatically saved into existing Google Drive directories. It’s a smoother ride for your file delivery process, with less manual work and more automation. Our Zendesk Connector Got Smarter Zendesk says “pt-br,” we say “Portuguese (Brazil),” and until now, someone had to play matchmaker. Not anymore. Our new language mapping takes care of that behind the scenes, linking simplified Zendesk codes. Translation Memories with Auto-Fix Tags What about improvements to help you better leverage your legacy content, yes, all those TM suggestions you’ve been reusing for years. Well, good news: our Translation Memory just got smarter. It now does its best to automatically fix tag order issues right from the memory itself. That means cleaner suggestions, less manual fixing.
