Fabio Correa Gomes28 Apr 2025·🎙️ What's LatestProcess-first is dead. Long live software-firstAt Gala Montreal, Gabriel Fairman didn’t hold back: "Every agency I talk to is process-first. They have checklists, audits, exception workflows… but that mindset is no longer compatible with the world we’re heading into. Our industry needs to go software-first — now." This shift isn’t about tools. It’s a mental reset. It means letting go of decades-old habits, rethinking workflows, and yes — making people uncomfortable. ✅ Automating quotes ✅ Instant task placement ✅ Minimal human overhead That’s not the future. That’s 2025. The question is: Can your agency scale without scaling headcount? Drop your thoughts below. What’s standing in the way of true digital transformation in our industry? Two audience questions that stayed with me: “Is it tough for clients to use a portal instead of emailing?” “Why wait three days for a report? I need it now,” one buyer said. Fabio Correa Gomes24 Apr 2025·🎙️ What's LatestThank you to everyone who stopped by our booth at GALA Montreal! 😊This year, we made a bold statement: Break the Machine. Break free from repetitive tasks, outdated systems, and molds that turn us into robots. As Daniel Lamarre said in his keynote, creativity needs time and space to grow. So, how do we make room for more creativity and feel human again? Change isn’t easy, but it’s necessary. This isn’t just a cosmetic change. We need to rebuild our core infrastructure. We need to Break the Machine. Gala Montreal.mp4

Rodrigo Demetrio25 Mar 2025·📣 Product UpdatesMarch 2025 Product UpdateWe had so much great stuff coming out of our ovens! Sous-chef, Google Drive, Post-Editing Metrics, and more. It's worth the read. Sous-Chef brings to you the right message for the right audience Everyone says they “do tone”, casual, formal, or friendly. But what’s casual for you isn’t casual for your audience in Tokyo, São Paulo, or Paris. Sous-Chef gets that. It reads your content, figures out what you're trying to say, who you're saying it to, and helps you shape the perfect voice for each audience. Real connection, not guesswork. Sous Chef was a finalist in the Process Innovation Challenge at LocWorld - check it out . Google Drive Integration? Check ✔️ Start your projects by pulling content straight from your Google Drive. Let’s face it, Google Drive is basically everyone’s hard drive now. It’s so omnipresent we forget what’s in the cloud and what’s local. Now, with our GDrive connector, you can start a project by pulling documents directly from your GDrive . No more downloading and re-uploading. Adding New Dimensions to Post-editing Metrics As AI becomes more and more prevalent we need to be able to highlight human effort . Part of this effort shows through the number of edits, but part of it is also reflected by the time spent in every segment. The more transparency, the more tools our users have to understand deeper insights into their own work and productivity as well as to their organization as a whole. Now users can see the time they spent on every segment. It’s an important datapoint that will be useful in our mission to find better and better ways to help users assess translation effort in this post-AI society. Say It Your Way! Synonyms Now available in our Glossary Ever feel like your glossary is a little too... literal? You can now add synonymous terms at the glossary level. Just add one or more extra terms for the same language pair, and boom, done. Because “translation” isn’t always one-to-one, and neither are the words we use to describe it. This is just the beginning of a long journey towards expanding the treatment of contextual nuances through our Context-Sensitive apparatus. Our Website Now Speaks 5 More Languages We’ve translated our site into Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and Swedish. Why? Because search is evolving. AI is changing how people find information, GPT, Perplexity, even Google is shifting toward AI-first responses. So while organic search is in flux, we’re using our strengths: Context Sensitivity, Smells, and Sous Chef, because showing up in search is still kind of a big deal. Give it a peek on our website!

Rodrigo Demetrio3 Mar 2025·📣 Product UpdatesFebruary 2025 Product Update: Vendor Payments, Rates, Glossaries, and more!February 2025 Product Update Software flexibility isn’t optional, it’s survival. With everything shifting so fast in our industry, this harsh statement gets more accurate by the day. What’s essential today might WILL be outdated tomorrow. That’s why we build Bureau Works to adapt, keeping you ahead no matter what comes next. Enough digressions… Here’s what’s new this month and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! 👉 Before closing this update, don’t forget to check out Slator’s tech enablement illusion article , the 2025 localization influencers list , an i nterview with Women in Localization’s co-founder , and a Bureau Works training . Pay Vendors How You Both Want For many of our users, the per-word rate isn’t cutting it anymore. Translating isn’t any more a typing thing in Bureau Works and we had to deliver tools that reflect this. Now, vendors can log their actual hours worked on a project, and PMs can approve or request adjustments. You can continue to use words, but now you can also use hours to keep track of effort. But the beauty is that it’s all connected—projects, payments, financials—seamlessly. More Flexibility for Vendor Rates Part of our system design Northstar is making our software more flexible. And here we are allowing vendors to add a multitude of rates to cover any combination of language pairs and workflow types. More granularity so that you can set up things your way. At Bureau Works Mi Casa es Su Casa for real. And while we were at it, we cleaned things up: Billing and language settings are now combined into a single page. Less clutter, fewer clicks, more efficiency. More Ways to Import Your Glossaries If payments and rates are the backbone of vendor relationships, glossaries are the backbone of quality translations. Now, in addition to TBX, you can import glossaries in XLSX format—because who doesn’t love options? Our goal is to make Bureau Works more accessible to all users, not just translation experts who know what a TBX even stands for. A Glossary is a list of terms and a list of terms is a glossary. It should be that simple, and now it is. 🙂 Terminology Kanban, Now with Bulk Import If flexibility is our #1 priority, Kanban improvements are a close second. Terminology plays a huge role in AI-driven pre-translation, and now you can bulk import terms into your Kanban using XLSX. No more one-by-one manual entries. Marketo Email Preview in Our Translation Editor Getting a new user into your marketing tools? A bureaucratic nightmare. Compliance, permissions, extra costs—just to let a translator peek at an email?!Not anymore. Now, vendors can preview your Marketo email campaigns right inside Bureau Works —no extra user fees, no extra steps. Contentful Integration Gets Even Smoother Last time, we made sending nested content in Contentful a one-click process. Now? You can also pull or push nested content directly from the Contentful sidebar. More efficiency, less clicking. We love it!
