Fabio Correa Gomes22 Jan 2025·📣 Product Updates🔎 Finding Projects Made Simple!“Is there a project order numbering system (like with quotations)? If not, how will clients and agency employees know how to search for past projects? How will workflow be managed for reporting purposes?” This insightful question was asked during our live Q & A session with Jamil Raide, Director of Product and Operations at Bureau Works. Here’s how Jamil addressed this challenge: Did you know Bureau Works automatically assigns a unique number to each project? Whether it's project #902 or #903, this auto-generated ID makes tracking a breeze. But there’s more! 🌟 Here’s how you can easily locate your projects: 1️⃣ By Project Number : Great for finding past work from emails or platform records. 2️⃣ By Reference Name : Avoid generic names like "Demo." Instead, use specific titles like project IDs or campaign names. 3️⃣ By File Name : Don’t remember the project? No worries—search by the file name instead! 4️⃣ By Content : Dive into the project content itself to locate the files. Pro Tip: Consistent, descriptive naming conventions can make your searches faster and more accurate! 🧠 How do you name your projects to stay organized? Share your best practices in the comments below! #TranslationManagement #SmartSearch #BureauWorksVimeo

Fabio Correa Gomes24 Dec 2024·🎙️ What's Latest2024 is sailing away, and 2025 is on the horizon. This time of year always feels like a paradox. I’m grateful for my family, for our team, and for all of you. At the same time, I reflect on what I could’ve done better. Gratitude and self-critique may seem worlds apart. But when I bring them together, they create something powerful: hope. Not dreamy, unattainable hope, but real hope. Hope in what we’ve built and in what we can achieve together. We all know life brings its challenges—health, relationships, work. But community and purpose make it all worthwhile. And you’re part of our community, you are our purpose. You give us the strength to keep going, rain or shine. In 2025, we hope we keep dreaming and building together. Thank you for being part of this journey. Wishing you health, freedom, and prosperity. Fabio Correa Gomes13 Dec 2024·🎙️ What's LatestFor the sake of efficiency, we stripped language of its soul. Necessary, but at what cost? No matter where you stand, AI optimist or skeptic. We can all agree on this: AI is just getting started, and it’s about to get a whole lot more sophisticated. For years, we’ve broken language into pieces: segments, syntax, BLEU scores. You name it. It helped cut costs and scale localization, but something got lost along the way. Language became less human, less natural, less real. It turned into a transaction. An unavoidable reduction in the name of economic expansion. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our thoughts at SlatorCon Remote, where we discussed how to make language language again, and yes, there is a way. Thank you, Slator, for the opportunity to share this message. Watch the session highlights and share your thoughts. Do you think the decontextualization of language was necessary? Rodrigo Demetrio15 Nov 2024·📣 Product UpdatesSupport for PDF, Kanban Terminology, and moreFor this workshop, we had a special guest, Jan Hinrichs, who spoke with us about our latest features. See the full update here: https://www.bureauworks.com/blog/november-update-2024 We’ve been busy behind the scenes (or maybe not that behind—since we attended 4 events in the last 30 days!) working on some updates we think you’ll find useful. PDFs are now supported. Project Routing is here to save you time when working with multiple teams, and we’ve added 24 new API endpoints. Check out what’s new below! Welcome PDF! Join us in celebrating the newest member to our 50+ supported file types club. Here’s why our PDF approach stands out: Smooth process : No file conversion needed. Fewer steps, more productivity. More secure : Skip sketchy editors and centralize content in one place. Trusted quality : Powered by Adobe’s engine, because our engineers always choose the best. Check out Jamil, our Director of Product, who demonstrated PDF uploads in our workshop: [Watch Here]. Remember, PDFs are just one of the many file types we support. You can also use our plugins or API for seamless integration. Save Time with Our New Project Routing Global companies often work with multiple languages and several translation agencies, making translation management a complex task. Think about the effort it takes to set up individual projects for each agency. For instance, creating 10 separate projects for 10 agencies quickly becomes a time-consuming process. That's where Project Routing comes in. Now, you only need to set up all the project settings once, and it will automatically route each project to the appropriate team . This streamlines your workflow, saving time and reducing repetitive tasks. 24 New Endpoints in Our API We’ve added 24 new endpoints to our public API, allowing you to expand your integrations and customizations even further. These new endpoints focus on users, organizations, organizational units, payables, and costs. Check it out in our developer area. New capabilities for the Terminology Kanban Our terminology Kanban has been well received by clients, and our engineers are focused on making your experience even better. This month, we’ve expanded its capabilities to enable easy bulk modifications. Introducing hourly charging options Charging per word is one of the sacred standards in our industry, so let’s shake things up and offer more flexibility for translation businesses to get what they want. Previously, pricelists only charged per word—now both words and hours are available. Context Sensitivity in Logfiles Alright, brace yourselves for some beloved Loc Tech jargon! We’ve added a new column in our post-analysis logfile to show translations that use our Context Sensitivity feature. Now, instead of grouping everything under 100% TM matches , the logfile clearly shows where Context Sensitivity has been applied. I can’t decide whether to feel proud of my fluency in localization tech or start rethinking simpler ways to explain this! Okay, I’d feel guilty if I didn’t share the Explanation of Terms: Post-Analysis : This refers to the step after translation is completed, where data is analyzed to see how much content was reused, edited, or needed special handling. It’s a report that helps track translation quality and efficiency. Logfile : Think of a logfile as a detailed record of the translation process. It shows what’s been translated, or reused. Context Sensitivity : Bureau Works’ Context Sensitive Translate feature combines information from translation memories, machine translations, glossaries, and past translation decisions into a single stream. It adapts as the translator works, learning to deliver content that matches the style and tone of previous translations. 100% TM Matches : Translation Memory (TM) stores segments that have been translated before, so if a new segment exactly matches one of these, it’s called a 100% match. This means the content can be reused without changes, saving time. In our new setup, instead of grouping context-sensitive translations with these exact matches, we make them distinct for easier tracking. More Terminology Added the option to send terms or concepts directly from the glossary screen to Kanban. Dynamic Feed: Your Extra Pair of Eyes Dynamic Feed helps you focus on what truly deserves your attention—whether it’s a project nearing its deadline or an important comment. Like a project assistant, it's always nudging you about the essentials. Now available for multiple profiles, including vendors. Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey! Your feedback has helped shape these updates, and we’re excited to make things easier for you. Is there anything you liked most?YouTube
Rodrigo Demetrio8 Nov 2024·🎙️ What's LatestAs AI gets better, how will translators get paid what they’re worth? Insights from ATA PortlandI've rarely seen a session at the ATA (American Translators Association) with the level of audience engagement we witnessed in this talk at ATA 52 in Portland—it was incredible! With a packed room and people standing all around, it was clear that the topic of fair pay in the age of AI is crucial for translators. As AI tools improve and reduce the need for edits, translators are left with important questions: How can they be fairly paid for the unique quality they add? Will the roles of translator, editor, and proofreader blend into one? How can we measure the real impact of a translation? How can translators access insights to show the value of their work? This discussion wasn’t about introducing new ideas, but about bringing translators together to explore practical solutions for a profession we all value deeply.YouTube
